Flood Advisory until 01:15AM Sunday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following counties, Burke and McDowell.

* WHEN...Until 115 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1111 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the past hour and additional rainfall up to an inch is possible through midnight. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Morganton, Salem, Glen Alpine, Lake James State Park, Lake James, Table Rock, B.R. Parkway-Little Switzerland To Linville, South Mountains State Park, Nebo, Oak Hill, Dysartsville, Ashford and North Cove. Flooding is most likely along tributaries to the Catawba River. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Your message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
