Sheriff's Aviation Assists with Rescue of Two Victims who Fell Approximately 20 Feet; One Victim was Pronounced Deceased

LOCATION: 41599 Valley of the Falls Dr, Forest Falls
SUSPECT(S):
VICTIM(S): 43-year-old Male Resident of Hemet, California
43-year-old Female Resident of Riverside, California.
SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 24, 2022, San Bernardino County Fire Department requested the assistance of Sheriff's Aviation in reference to two fall victims in Big Falls. It was reported both the male and female victim had fallen approximately 20 feet from the middle to the lower falls.
Sheriff's helicopter Air Rescue (AR307) responded to the area and located the two victims in the lower falls. The female victim was performing CPR on the male victim.
San Bernardino County Fire personnel arrived on scene and the male victim was pronounced deceased. A Sheriff's Air Medic was hoisted down to the scene to make patient contact. The female victim was hoisted up to the helicopter and flown to awaiting medical/ground personnel. The female victim was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center by American Medical Response for injuries sustained in the fall. The male victim was hoisted out of the falls and was flown to Sheriff's Aviation for Coroner transport.
