INCIDENT: Possession of Stolen Mail / Possession of Stolen Property / Petty Theft - Gasoline
LOCATION: 5000 Block of Los Serranos Road, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): Marissa Navarro, 30-year-old female resident of Corona
Johnny Arroyo, 31-year-old male resident of Corona
SUMMARY: On Saturday, July 23, 2022, at approximately 4:01 a.m., Chino Hills deputies conducted an area check for suspicious activity inside a business complex. Deputies located a five gallon water bottle filled with gasoline, next to a parked U-Haul truck. Deputies also located a Chevrolet Equinox with several doors open parked on a nearby street. Evidence inside the Equinox suggested the vehicle was involved in stealing gasoline from the U-Haul truck. Inside the vehicle, deputies located over 50 pieces of mail from residents of Chino Hills, Chino, Temecula, Murrieta, Corona, and Eastvale. The registered owner of the Equinox, Marissa Navarro and Johnny Arroyo, were contacted in a nearby residential neighborhood. Navarro was detained as Arroyo ran from deputies and jumped several residential fences before being detained.
Navarro and Arroyo were arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC 530.5(c )(3) - possession of stolen mail, PC 182(A)(1) - conspiracy to commit a crime, and PC 488 - petty theft.
The Chino Hills Detective Bureau is diligently attempting to contact the victim's of mail theft.
