Traffic Stop Leads to Foot Pursuit and Arrest for an Outstanding Warrant and Resisting

INCIDENT: PC 69-Resisting an Officer
LOCATION: W Rimrock Rd and D St, Barstow
SUSPECT(S): Jonathon Steven Marrailo, 33-year-old Barstow Resident
SUMMARY: On Monday, July 25, 2022, at approximately 12:35 p.m., Deputy Saragih conducted a traffic stop on W Rimrock Road and D Street on a 2001 Honda Odyssey, for expired registration. Deputy Saragih approached the vehicle and asked the driver for identification. The driver told the deputy he did not have his drivers license or any form of identification.
Deputy Saragih conducted a records check on the driver, who identified himself as Jonathon Marrailo. Marrailo was found to have an outstanding warrant for California penal code 243(E)(1)- Spousal Battery.
Deputy Saragih attempted to place handcuffs on Marrailo and Marrailo became uncooperative, pulling away from the deputy. Marrailo pushed the deputy and fled the scene on foot. Saragih pursued Marrailo on foot and located Marrailo hiding underneath a vehicle in a nearby residential area. Marrailo was taken into custody and booked into High Desert Detention Center for resisting an Officer.
