DNREC issues Recreational Water Advisory for Rehoboth Beach
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) issued today a recreational water advisory for Rehoboth Beach. Elevated levels of bacteria have been found in a water sample taken yesterday by DNREC at Rehoboth Avenue. The beach remains open, but swimmers are advised to use caution and/or avoid prolonged periods in the water from Baltimore Avenue to Stockley Street.
Elevated levels of bacteria can often be associated with heavy rain episodes. Stormwater runoff may collect bacteria from pet and wildlife waste. Such ocean beach advisories can often be terminated within a couple of days.More information at https://www.cityofrehoboth.com/news/dnrec-issues-recreational-water-advisory-rehoboth-beach.
