Palmdale, Calif. – On July 29, 2022, 1 person was arrested for driving under the influence, 3 people were cited for driving on a suspended license, 13 people were cited for driving without a license and 1 person was cited for a misdemeanor warrant at a DUI checkpoint.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Avenue S / 40th Street East from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
1152 vehicles were contacted, and 4 vehicles were impounded/stored.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
