San Leandro Police Recover Nearly Two Pounds of Fentanyl:
This past Saturday, July 30, a San Leandro Police officer was on routine patrol when he observed a driver and vehicle in violation of the California Vehicle Code. The driver, 23-year-old Marvin Flores of Oakland, was contacted during a subsequent traffic stop on Marina Boulevard and Aurora Drive.
During the officer's investigation, probable cause to search the vehicle was established. The officer located nearly two pounds of fentanyl during his search. Additionally, the officer found marijuana, heroin, and methamphetamine, which were bundled for the purpose of selling to others. In conjunction with the discovered drugs, the driver was also in possession of nearly $3,000.00 in currency.

"I want to thank our weekend midnight officers who worked together to make this investigation complete and safe, as a minute amount of fentanyl can be deadly," said Lieutenant Matthew Barajas.
"Our officers carry Narcan, an opioid overdose treatment. Each member is trained in administering the drug. We have used Narcan several times and with successful results," said Lieutenant Barajas.
