INCIDENT:  PC 459: Vehicle Burglary, PC 496: Possession of Stolen Property, HS 11350: Possession of a Controlled Substance, PC 3056: Parole Violation, PC 11351: Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales, Outstanding Warrants

LOCATION: Jiggs Road/ Hinkley Road, Barstow

SUSPECT(S): Tyler Segura, 26 years-old, resident of Barstow
Kyle Galvin, 29 years-old, resident of Barstow
Hanna Elliott, 31 years-old, resident of Barstow
James Jones, 33 years-old, resident of Barstow


SUMMARY: On Friday, July 29, 2022, at 6:41 a.m., deputies from the Barstow Station responded to a 911 call on Jiggs Road, near Hinkley Road, in Barstow. According to the victim, she was working in the area and parked her car, locking the doors and windows. An unknown suspect broke the driver’s side window of the vehicle and stole her laptop and other personal items. The victim saw a Black Honda Civic leaving the area.

During the investigation, deputies were able to locate the Black Honda Civic at a hotel in the 2800 block of Lenwood Road in Barstow. The vehicle was occupied by Tyler Segura who attempted to run but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Fentanyl was found in Segura’s pants pocket at the time of his arrest. Kyle Galvin, Hanna Elliot, and James Jones were associates of Segura and contacted at the hotel.

During the investigation, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call regarding an additional vehicle burglary in the same area as the first burglary. Stolen property from both victims was located inside Segura’s car. Deputy C. Hancock authored a search warrant for the hotel room occupied by Galvin, Elliot, and Jones. Fentanyl was located inside the room, along with paraphernalia and packaging consistent with the sales of narcotics. 

Tyler Segura was arrested for vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and a parole violation. He is currently being held without bail. Kyle Galvin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales and is being held in lieu of $100,000.00 bail. Hanna Elliot was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. She has been released from jail and is due to appear in court on October 3, 2022. James Jones was arrested on warrants for drug related charges. He has been released from jail and is due to appear in court on September 7, 2022.
