Pursuit Results in Arrest of Pennsylvania Man for Theft of a Motor Vehicle

A man was arrested for motor vehicle theft after stealing a Mercedes left idling in a shopping center. Officers were called to the Absecon Marketplace just before 9:30 PM on August 1, 2022 and received the report.
A city officer immediately located the vehicle on Route 30 (White Horse Pike) and attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. The driver refused to comply and led officers on a pursuit. The suspect vehicle ran off the road and ultimately drove into the marsh.
The driver refused to surrender and led officers on a foot chase. Officers apprehended the driver, identified as Thomas Peele, 26, of Lewisberry, PA, without further incident.
