Volunteer for the community Pride painting event; Summer Fun updates announced

The City of Hoboken invites all members of the community to paint the LGBTQIA+ Pride Crosswalk outside Hoboken City Hall at Newark and Washington Streets on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers must be 15 years old or older and they must pre-register with the City’s Head of Constituent Services Nora Martínez DeBenedetto at [email protected].

The City will also have separate rainbow chalking and rainbow temporary tattoos for children.

Additional concerts and movie screenings announced

The City’s Office of Cultural Affairs today announced additional movie screenings and updates to the City’s Concerts in the Park program

The City of Hoboken & the Hoboken Police Department will host a screening of Minions at Mama Johnson Field at Fourth and Jackson Streets on Monday, Aug. 22.

The City will also screen Sing 2 on Wednesday, Aug. 10, and Encanto on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Pier A Park. All screenings will begin at sundown between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The Concerts in the Park Program will continue until August 25. The schedule is as follows:

Mondays in the Southwest Resiliency Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Aug. 8 – Zydeco Revelator
  • Aug. 15 – The Counterfeiters
Tuesdays in Shipyard Park from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Aug. 9 – Music Together
  • Aug. 16 – Americana Family Jamboree
Thursdays in Sinatra Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Aug. 4 – Swingadelic Big Band
  • Aug. 11 – Orquesta La Experiencia
  • Aug. 18 – Julio Fernandez and Friends
  • Aug. 24 – Bar/None Cavalcade of Stars
  • Aug. 25 – Krystal
