Power outage in the Mancos area has been temporarily restored to most of the residents. Full and consistent power will be on at 7 am.
Some customers are still without power in the Mancos area. Empire Electric is asking all customers in the Cortez and Dolores areas to reduce their power usage as they back feed power from those substations into Mancos. Customers outside of Mancos may experience intermittent power disruptions. PLEASE do not call Empire Electric or dispatch to report these issues. They are working as quickly as they can! If your medical equipment that requires electricity is not functioning due to the outage, please call the Montezuma County Office of Emergency Management if you need assistance. (970-564-4137)
From Empire Electric
Mancos Outage Update: EEA has restored power to most meters impacted by the outage in the Mancos area. There are still approximately 175 meters without power. EEA is utilizing power from the Cortez and Dolores substations to back feed Mancos. We are at the limit of power we can back feed and request EEA members in the Cortez, Dolores, and Mancos areas to only use essential appliances. Reducing load will help EEA maintain power to a wider area. The expected restoration for power to all meters is tomorrow morning at approximately 7:00 AM Friday August 5 2022.
