Crime Alert Bulletin Covering the Week of July 25-31, 2022

When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.  
 
  
Robberies
 
There was one robbery during the past week.
 
On Thursday, 07-28-22, at approximately 4:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Skyline Drive on a report of a robbery. The victim, a 69-year-old male, had stated that he exited his vehicle to get food out of his vehicle via the rear right passenger door when he noticed a suspect holding a gun in his right hand approach him. The victim also noticed a vehicle parked approximately five yards west of his truck in the middle of the road with the right rear door ajar. The suspect walked towards the victim with the gun pointed at him and grabbed for the watch on the victim’s left wrist. The victim and suspect struggled briefly and then the suspect hit the victim on the head with the gun. The suspect took the victim’s Rolex watch, entered the awaiting vehicle, and fled northbound on Skyline Drive. The victim described the suspect as a black male, 5’9”, with a medium build, wearing a black tee shirt and black pants, and is approximately in his thirties or forties. The suspect vehicle is a red Dodge Charger. This investigation is continuing.
 
 
Residential Burglaries
 
There were no residential burglaries during the past week.
 
 
Commercial Burglaries
 
There were no commercial burglaries during the past week.


Vehicle Burglaries   
 
There were two vehicle burglaries and one attempted vehicle burglary reported during the past week.
 

  • Parking garage on the 1900 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard —a pair of Nike Viper Air Max shoes and a pair of Nike Air Force One shoes were taken from a 2022 Toyota RAV4. The rear windshield was shattered. Occurred between 10:00 p.m. on 07-26-22 and 12:30 a.m. on 07-27-22.
 
  • Parking garage on the 1900 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard —an HP laptop and SwissGear backpack/laptop bag were taken from a 2022 Honda Civic. The front passenger window was broken. Occurred on 07-27-22 between 12:01 a.m. and 12:30 a.m.
 
  • Parking garage on the 2600 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard —an attempted vehicle burglary of a 2017 Kia Forte. A suspect tried to break the window by hitting it with a wooden stick multiple times. Occurred on 07-31-22, at approximately 4:34 a.m. A witness identified the suspect. The suspect, a 30-year-old Arroyo Grande resident, was arrested and booked into jail for attempted vehicle theft and other charges.
 
 
Stolen Vehicles  
 
There were six vehicles stolen during the past week. No vehicles were recovered.
 
  • Unit block of Hill Street—a 2000 Chevrolet Astro Van. Occurred on 07-29-22 at approximately 4:42 a.m.  
 
  • 300 block of Peoria Street—a 2017 Toyota Tundra. Occurred on 07-29-22 at approximately 6:00 p.m.
 
  • Unit block of Dorchester Drive—a 1999 Honda Civic. Occurred between 2:00 p.m. on 07-30-22 and 10:45 a.m. on 08-01-22.  
 
  • 1000 block of Brunswick Street—a 2006 Ford Econoline E250. Occurred on 07-31-22 between 12:55 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.  
 
  • 200 block of Winchester Street—a 1998 Ford Econoline E250. Occurred on 07-31-22 at approximately 6:20 a.m.
 
  • 200 block of Lake Merced Boulevard—a 1994 Honda Civic. Occurred between 5:00 p.m. on 07-31-22 and 2:00 a.m. on 08-01-22.  
 
 
Miscellaneous
 
  • There were 145 cases taken.
 
  • There were 11 domestic disturbance cases reported.
 
  • There were 4 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
 
  • There were 16 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
 
  • There were 0 cases for public intoxication.
 
  • There were 2 hit-and-run collisions reported.
 
  • There were 16 narcotics-related cases taken.
