Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 10:30PM Thursday

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... East central Mercer County in central New Jersey... Central Monmouth County in central New Jersey... Southwestern Middlesex County in northern New Jersey...

* Until 1030 PM EDT.

* At 939 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Twin Rivers, or 13 miles south of New Brunswick, moving east at 5 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Locations impacted include... Old Bridge, Manalapan, Jamesburg, Hightstown, Cranbury, Roosevelt, Yorketown, Twin Rivers, Whittingham, West Freehold, Clearbrook Park, Morganville, Freehold, Spotswood, Helmetta, Englishtown, Concordia and Rossmoor. This includes New Jersey Turnpike between exits 8A and 9.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MERCER, NJ ... MIDDLESEX, NJ ... MONMOUTH, NJ

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
