INCIDENT: PC245(a)(2); Assault with a Firearm, PC417(a)(1); Brandishing a Firearm, PC29800(a)(1); Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC1203.2; Violation of Probation
LOCATION: 35000 block of Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Joseph Prado, Age 21, Resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at about 7:45 p.m., Joseph Prado was involved in a road rage incident. During the incident, Prado produced a firearm and pointed it at the victim. The victim and bystanders were able to provide responding deputies information that lead to the identification of Prado as the suspect.
Prado was found to be on active probation for violation of PC245(a)(2); Assault with a Firearm. Deputies authored an arrest warrant for Prado and contacted the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) to assist in apprehending Prado.
On Thursday, August 4, 2022 at about 12:41 a.m., personnel from SED took Prado into custody without incident in San Bernardino. A firearm was recovered at the scene. Investigators from the Yucaipa Station Detective Bureau responded to continue the investigation. Prado was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center on multiple felony charges, including a no bail hold for violating his probation terms.
