San Leandro Police Investigate Shooting, Juvenile Injured
Earlier today, at about 11:30 am, San Leandro Police responded to a reported shooting on the 2200 block of E.14th Street. The shooting is believed to have occurred within a business. At this time, it is unknown if this was a robbery attempt or a direct and targeted shooting.
During the gunfire, two to three shots were believed to have been fired, and a 13-year-old juvenile girl was injured.
Detectives suspect the girl was injured by a bullet fragment striking her foot. The juvenile was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The suspects, in this case, fled the scene.
Police will not be releasing any more information regarding this shooting at this time. This is an ongoing investigation, and our Criminal Investigations Division detectives have assumed responsibility. We will release more information when appropriate as the investigation unfolds.

"We are hoping for any witnesses to come forward and a quick arrest. This is intolerable, and a young girl was injured as a result of this violence," said Lieutenant Matthew Barajas.
