SUMMARY:
On Thursday, August 4, 2022, at approximately 9:39 p.m., Highland deputies responded to a local restaurant in reference to an armed robbery. At approximately, 10:16 p.m., the same suspect committed an armed robbery at a local convenience store. The same suspect committed a third armed robbery at about 11:50 p.m. at a local gas station.
On August 5, 2022, around 12:21 a.m., the same suspect committed a fourth armed robbery at a second local restaurant.
Later in the morning, at 10:03 a.m., the suspect committed a fifth armed robbery at a second local gas station. During this robbery, a license plate for the suspect's vehicle was discovered through investigative leads.
James Hutchinson IV was identified as the suspect who commited all of the armed robberies. Search warrants were served at his home in Highland and at his place of employment in Fontana which resulted in the recovery of items, including a handgun, linking Hutchinson IV to the robberies. With the assistance of the Specialized Enforcement Division, Hutchinson IV was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
