Flood Advisory until 07:45AM Saturday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Nevada, including the following county, Elko.

* WHEN...Until 645 AM PDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1149 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in Lamoille Canyon Recreational Area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Lamoille Canyon Recreational Area is the most likely place to experience minor flooding. This includes the road through the Canyon as well as Thomas Canyon Campground. Water running off the mountain will likely flow across the roadway carrying rock, sand, and sediment from the mountain onto the road. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.6 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... mainly rural areas of Southern Elko County - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
