OPD NEWS:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred on August 6, 2022, just before 12:15 AM, in the 1400 block of Webster Street. OPD Officers were in the area when they heard gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wound(s). Officers rendered aid until relieved by medical personnel from the Oakland Fire Department (OFD) and Falck Ambulance. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in grave condition with life threatening injuries.
While officers were on scene working the 1400 block of Webster Street incident, a second shooting in the area occurred just past 3:15 AM, in the 1700 block of Broadway.
Upon arrival, officers located three individuals with gunshot wound(s). Falck Ambulance arrived on scene and rendered emergency aid. Two of the victims, both adult males, were transported to a local hospital; one was pronounced deceased, and the other was listed in stable condition. The third victim, an adult female, self-transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
A Homicide callout was initiated, and the investigators responded to both scenes to begin the follow-up investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shootings. The victims’ identities are being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

This homicide tragically marks Oakland’s 71st life lost. At this time last year, there were 77 lives lost.
