Full Notification

At approximately 6:45am on 08-07-2022, deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on St. Rd 63 at the Durkees Ferry Rd intersection. Preliminary investigation indicated that a passenger car was eastbound on Durkees Ferry Rd approaching the St. Rd 63 intersection. The passenger car appears to have attempted to continue eastbound, crossing the St. Rd 63 southbound lane of traffic. Southbound on St. Rd 63 was a Penske moving truck with a trailer carrying an SUV. The Penske moving truck attempted to avoid the collision but crashed into the passenger car, and came to rest on top of the passenger car. Both vehicles continued after the impact across St. Rd 63 and across the northbound lanes. The vehicles then came to rest in ditch south of the intersection. Unfortunately, both occupants of the passenger car were pronounced deceased at the scene. No names are being released at this time pending family notification. The investigation is ongoing.
