INVOVLED PARTY (2): 50-year-old male, resident of Hesperia (Transported to area hospital)
INVOLVED VEHICLE (2): 2020 Chevrolet Silverado
INVOVLED PARTY (3): 46-year-old female, resident of Hesperia (Transported to area hospital)
INVOLVED VEHICLE (3): 2013 Kia Soul
INVOVLED PARTY (4): 26-year-old male, resident of Hesperia
INVOLVED VEHICLE (4): 2014 Volkswagen Jetta
SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 7, 2022, at approximately 4:58 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency personnel from the Victorville Fire Department responded to a multiple vehicle traffic collision in the area of Air Expressway Boulevard and Nevada Avenue in Victorville.
Through preliminary investigation, it appeared the Toyota Corolla traveled west on Air Expressway Boulevard and attempted to pass a vehicle by merging into oncoming traffic. The Corolla collided head on with a Chevrolet Silverado followed by a Kia Soul. The Corolla and the Silverado immediately engulfed into flames. The impact caused the Soul to roll multiple times and struck a Volkswagen Jetta. The driver of the Corolla suffered major injuries and despite lifesaving efforts, succumbed to his injuries on scene.
