08-08-2022 A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR TOM GIORDANO - WATER TREATMENT UPDATE
Residents,
The Borough continues to work to design, permit, and install treatment systems to reduce levels of PFAS in our water to below the state limits. As we continue to do so, we want to provide more regular responses to residents’ concerns such as updates on the progress of the work, educational resources, and budget impacts. This message is the first of what will be more regular responses.
Linked below are three resources for residents. The first is a timeline of the Borough’s progress on installing treatment for PFAS. The second is a link to the Borough’s PFAS resources page which contains links to presentations, public notices, and educational materials. The third is a link to ZeroWater, a company that sells at home filtration products and who claim that their 5 Stage Ion Exchange Filter is the only pour-through water filter NSF certified to reduce PFOA/PFOS, lead, and chromium.
