Flood Advisory until 10:45AM Tuesday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Including the following areas, Matanuska Valley and Susitna Valley.

* WHEN...Until 1045 AM AKDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 929 AM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate rises in water levels from heavy rain in the advisory area. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. - River gages on Willow Creek and the Little Susitna river indicate rapid rises in water levels overnight with water levels expected to continue rising today. The Little Susitna River and Willow Creek are expected to crest above minor flood stage later this afternoon into this evening. Rapid rises along ungaged rivers are also likely with bankfull and minor flooding conditions expected on smaller rivers draining the Talkeetna Mountains including Montana Creek, Sheep Creek and Kashwitna River and their tributaries. - - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood - If you live near or along Willow Creek, Little Susitna River and other small streams draining from the Talkeetna Mountains stay alert and be prepared to take action.
