INCIDENT: PC 21310 - Possession of Dirk/Dagger
LOCATION: 300 Block of Chestnut Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Gildardo Valdez, 48-Years-Old, Resident of Moreno Valley, CA
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 7, 2022 at approximately 2:42 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department attempted to contact Gildardo Valdez near the 300 Block of Chestnut Street in Needles. Valdez attempted to hide from deputies behind a telephone pole and a short foot pursuit ensued. During the foot pursuit, Valdez pulled a weapon from his waistband and threw it on top of the roof of a nearby residence. Deputies were able to apprehend Valdez without incident, and the weapon was recovered.
Gildardo Valdez was consequently arrested for PC 21310, Posssession of a Dirk/Dagger and transferred to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Valdez remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $25,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
