Arrest Made in Child Sexual Exploitation Investigation, Detectives Seeking Potential Victims

DATE OF RELEASE: Tuesday, August 09, 2022 

On August 03, 2022, following an investigation spanning several months, West Covina Police Detectives, along with the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and members of the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force – Team 2, arrested an individual for possession of child sexual abuse material/child pornography. The suspect, Andrew Williams, a 33-year-old resident of La Mirada, was arrested and booked for 311.11(a) PC and 311.11(c)(1) PC (Possession/ETC over 600 obscene images/ETC: Minor in Sexual Act: Pornography/Obscene Material). A Felony filing was secured on both charges with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on August 05, 2022. 

Due to Williams’ prior place of employment, a church, Detectives believe there may be potential physical victims. The West Covina Police Department is asking for assistance from the public. Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Detective Iside at (626) 939-8735. The suspect is also known to have previously resided in the City of Costa Mesa. The suspect was most recently employed in the City of San Dimas.
