Full Notification

On August 10^th, 2022, at approximately 1345 hours, officers of the Beaufort Police Department responded to the area of Carteret Street and Port Republic Street in reference to reports of shots fired in the area.  According to witnesses, the shots fired were likely related to an altercation between several male and female subjects that had fled the area prior to officer's arrival on the scene.  The incident is still under investigation, and there does not otherwise appear to be a threat to the general public.  Anyone will additional information pertaining to this incident is requested to contact the Non-Emergency Dispatch line at 843-524-2777 or the Beaufort Police Department Anonymous Tip Line at 843-322-7938.
