SUSPECT: Aguilar, Raquel – 27 year old, Pomona resident
NARRATIVE:
On Wednesday, August 10, 2022; Pomona police patrol officer were conducting extra patrol in the area of Abbey Ln. and Karesh Av., due to a recent uptick in violent crime in the area. Officers were on foot in the center Alley of Abbey Ln. and Karesh Av., when they noticed a vehicle traveling south in the alley. Officers focused their flashlights on the occupants of the vehicle and could see what appeared to be open alcoholic beverages in the occupant’s hands. The vehicle then drove off at a high rate of speed south through the alley. A traffic enforcement stop was conducted on the vehicle. The front passenger Raquel Aguilar handed an officer a 24oz Modelo and bottle of vodka. Officers asked Raquel Aguilar to step out of the car. Officers noticed a firearm in plain view. Raquel Aguilar claimed ownership of the firearm which was accessible to her when she was seated in the car. The firearm was found to be loaded with three rounds and four rounds were recovered from Raquel Aguilar pants pocket.
The firearm was reported stolen out of the City of Ontario. Raquel Aguilar is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms. Raquel Aguilar was arrested for firearms related charges. Raquel Aguilar was booked at the Pomona city jail under the above listed charges.
Jorge Gonzalez the driver of the vehicle was cited and released in the field for traffic violations.
UNIT:
The Pomona Police Department’s Patrol Division is responsible for responding to a multitude of various calls for service with a wide range of variables. Shifts of officers are assigned to squads that are each supervised by a Sergeant and a Corporal.

Pomona Patrol Officers Arrest Convicted Felon for Weapons Violations

- 25850 (c)(6) PC – Possession of a Loaded/Unregistered Firearm
- 29800 (a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- 30305 (a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of Ammunition
- 25850 (c) (2) PC – Possession of a stolen Firearm
