As the Lakeport Unified School District (LUSD) is starting classes TODAY, Thursday, August 11, 2022, the Lakeport Police Department (LPD) and LUSD staff are reminding all drivers to use extreme caution when traveling in the area of/and on the grounds of the Lakeport schools. We expect heavier than normal vehicle and pedestrian traffic near the school grounds in the mornings and afternoons, starting today. Officers will be increasing traffic enforcement in the area, so avoid your Traffic Citation!! Also, please watch for students who may be waiting for buses or walking or riding bicycles to and from school. Lastly, remember to STOP for school buses when RED LIGHTS FLASH!!!.
