During the week of August 8 - August 14, one life was lost to violence. OPD has investigated 74 homicides year to date, 79 this time last year, down 6%.
For the week, there were 33 instances of gunfire, 38 robberies, and six carjackings.
This year, OPD officers have recovered 1000+ firearms.
OPD encourages residents and business owners to consider installing security cameras as well as alarms. These technologies can both deter crime and help solve crimes after they occur.
