Ripon Police Department Accepting Applications for Community Police Academy
The Ripon Police Department will be conducting its third annual Community Police Academy! The program is a nine-week program designed to educate members of our community about law enforcement in our community through various methods of instruction including lectures, activities, discussions, and scenario training. In addition to learning about law enforcement and community service, students will have the opportunity to explore new career opportunities and develop relationships that will last well beyond the course.
The academy will run on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00 PM, with one Saturday class at our range facility. The classes will start on September 21 and run through November 9, with a Graduation Potluck on November 16.
Applications for the academy will be accepted through September 5, 2022, and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of 20 participants.
You must be able to pass a basic background check, and either reside in, or have a substantial connection to the City of Ripon to participate. A commitment to participate in at least six of the eight weeks is encouraged. If you have any questions, please contact Sgt. Paul Staley via email at [email protected]
