AUGUST 17TH UPDATE - BOIL ALERT & WATER RESTRICTIONS STILL IN EFFECT
August 17th Update - Water Alert - Emergency Water Distribution
While Washington Township is among the communities under the Great Lakes Water Authority's boil water advisory. The GLWA assures the township the current water supply is adequate to meet all essential needs. Washington Township maintains its ban on outdoor irrigation and other nonessential outdoor water use to minimize impact during the boil water advisory.
To meet the needs of residents who cannot boil water for consumption, the state of Michigan has supplied a limited supply of emergency bottled water. This limited supply will be distributed today, Aug. 17th at 10AM As more supplies become available, daily pickups will continue. Washington Township will distribute water to seniors in need who are enrolled in the Meals on Wheels program and SMART transportation services. ID Required.
Drive-thru distribution center will be set up at Gilcher-Crissman Park located on 6491 29 Mile Road while supplies last. Because the supply is limited Washington Township asks only residents that cannot sanitize their water by boiling participate in the distribution program.
