Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspects with Stolen Credit Cards

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspects, who were captured on surveillance video using credit cards taken during an armed robbery on August 11, 2022.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., the victim was robbed at 11 Pennington Street when the suspect approached him from behind with a weapon that he stuck in the victim’s back. The suspect, who was wearing a surgical mask and dark-colored clothing, took the victim’s wallet containing credit and debit cards, and fled westbound on Pennington towards Broad Street. The suspect is described as a 5’8” Black male with a medium build and he appears to be in his 20s.

Two days after the robbery, on August 13, 2022, the below-pictured suspect on the left was captured on surveillance video attempting to use one of the stolen credit cards at 2:50 a.m. at a gas station near Broad Street and Lincoln Park. The suspect pictured below on the right attempted to use a stolen credit card at 10:07 a.m. at a liquor store in the same location.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-
