Wanted for Leaving the Scene of a Crash
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the driver of a vehicle that struck a teenage pedestrian in Shirley and fled the scene.
A 14-year-old female was riding her bicycle southbound on Flintock Drive at the intersection of Maple Lane when a white four-door sedan traveling westbound stopped at the intersection and then accelerated, striking and knocking the teenager to the ground at approximately 7:45 p.m. on August 14. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping. The teenager was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
