AUGUST 18TH - BOIL WATER ALERT STILL IN EFFECT & WATER DISTRIBUTION TODAY AT 10 A.M.
August 18th Update - Water Alert - Emergency Water Distribution
While Washington Township is among the communities under the Great Lakes Water Authority's boil water advisory. The GLWA assures the township the current water supply is adequate to meet all essential needs. Washington Township maintains its ban on outdoor irrigation and other nonessential outdoor water use to minimize impact during the boil water advisory.
To meet the needs of residents who cannot boil water for consumption, the state of Michigan has supplied a limited supply of emergency bottled water. This limited supply will be distributed today, Aug. 18th at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tomorrow August 19th 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drive-thru distribution center will be set up at Gilcher-Crissman Park located on 6491 29 Mile Road while supplies last. Because the supply is limited Washington Township asks only residents that cannot sanitize their water by boiling participate in the distribution program.
Washington Township will distribute water to seniors in need who are enrolled in the Meals on Wheels program and SMART transportation services. Please call (586) 752-6543 to be added to list.
