INCIDENT: PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm
PC 30305(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of Prohibited Ammunition
PC 3455 - Violation of Probation
LOCATION: 7000 Block of Arcata Trail, Big River, CA
SUSPECT(S): Steven Atwater, 42-years-old, Resident of Big River, CA.
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at approximately 11:40 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department contacted Steven Atwater during a probation check.
During contact with Atwater, deputies located a rifle and ammunition. Atwater is a convicted felon and is prohibited from being in possession of guns and ammunition.
Atwater was subsequently arrested for PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm, PC 30305(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of Prohibited Ammunition and PC 3455 - Violation of Probation. Atwater was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with no bail, awaiting a court hearing.
