Flood Advisory until 09:45PM Thursday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Nevada, including the following county, Elko.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Small rockfalls or minor debris flows will be possible, similar rain has caused these within the last couple of weeks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 543 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.1 and 0.3 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lamoille Canyon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* AFFECTED AREAS: ELKO, NV

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
