Flash Flood Warning until 12:45AM Friday

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Beaufort County in southeastern South Carolina...

* Until 1245 AM EDT.

* At 935 PM EDT, emergency management reported water entering a couple of residences in the Port Royal area and the Burton area. Heavy rainfall continues across the area and flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hilton Head Island, Beaufort, Port Royal, Clarendon, Ladys Island, Parris Island, Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station, Burton, Shell Point, Fripp Island, Dale, Laurel Bay, Chesterfield, Beaufort County Airport, Frogmore, Penn Center, Dataw Island, Ashdale, Scott and Cat Island. Extremely heavy rainfall has produced flash flooding in portions of Beaufort County. Rain gauges across the county show that 2 to 6 inches of rain has fallen since about 6:30 pm. Intense rainfall will continue for the next hour or two with additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches possible.
