Advisory

Boil water advisory lifted

The boil water advisory has been lifted for the Village of Almont and the City of Imlay City. This was accomplished by meeting specific standards for stable pressures in the system and for meeting treatment requirements set forth by the State.
This does not mean that the water system is back to normal operations. The repairs are still estimated to be completed by September 3rd and there remains a possibility that the boil water advisory could go back into effect if there is a serious problem with the system.
Lapeer County Emergency Management in coordination with the Village of Almont and the City of Imlay City and GLWA are encouraging residents to continue to limit their use of water to essential uses only to preserve the current state of the water system and to help avoid causing a problem that would bring the boil water advisory back into effect.
