MEDIA RELEASE: Suspicious Activity
The Middleton Police Department is aware of information on social media reporting an attempted abduction near the Middleton High School on Monday, August 22nd. We are investigating an incident that occurred yesterday in the 2200 block of Parmenter Street; however, the information provided in the course of our investigation does not support that report.
Around noon on August 22, 2022, a 16 year old female reported she was walking northbound in the 2200 block of Parmenter Street when a white semi-tractor with a white trailer pulled up next to her and came to a stop. The victim reported the vehicle and trailer did not have any markings. A male subject exited the passenger side and asked the female if she had a boyfriend. She did not respond, became uncomfortable, and ran away. When she looked back, she no longer observed the suspect or the semi. Contrary to what is reported on social media, the victim did not report that the subject tried to grab her.
The suspect is described as a taller, skinny, and fit black male with slightly longer than average hair. He also had gold teeth on the top and bottom.
This incident is still being investigated by the Middleton Police Department. If you have any information, or were witness to this incident, please contact the Middleton Police Department at 608-824-7300, Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014, or on the web at P3TIPS.COM.
