Chino Hills Deputies Locate Sexual Assault Suspect in Ontario and Take Him into Custody

INCIDENT: Sexual Assault, Obstruct/Resist Arrest, Violation of Post Release Community Supervision
LOCATION: 2500 Block of East Riverside Drive, Ontario
SUSPECT(S): Erik Cervantez, 27-year-old Resident of Chino Hills
VICTIM(S): Confidential Resident of Chino Hills
SUMMARY: On August 9, 2022, the victim visited Erik Cervantez in the 15400 block of Fairfield Ranch Road, in Chino Hills. During the visit, Cervantez forced himself on the victim and sexually assaulted her. Cervantez left the location prior to deputies' arrival and was not contacted. Deputies learned Cervantez had a probation warrant for violating the conditions of his Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).
On August 23, 2022, deputies from the Multiple Enforcement Team received information Cervantez was staying at an apartment in Ontario. Cervantez was seen inside the apartment when the deputies contacted the occupants. Cervantez ran from the apartment and resisted when deputies attempted to arrest him. After a brief struggle, Cervantez was placed in handcuffs and arrested.
Cervantez was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for PC 69 - Obstruct/Resist Arrest, PC 3455 - PRCS violation, PC 287(C)(2)(a) - Oral Copulation Using Force.
