There have been several bear sightings in the Dunwoody area of late. A bear has been seen on N. Peachtree, Devonshire, and other streets. We contacted the Georgia Department of Natural Resources - Georgia DNR to find out if they will respond and pick up the bear. They advised they will not respond unless the bear is causing significant damage or becomes a danger to people. They did recommend citizens go to www.bearwise.org to learn more about bears and how to not interact with them. If certain precautions are taken by people, the bear will likely move on more quickly.
