LOCATION: 61000 Block of Begonia Place, Joshua Tree
SUSPECT(S): Larry Gillette, 23-year-old Male, Resident of Joshua Tree
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, deputies were dispatched to an assault call for service in the 61000 block of Begonia Place, in Joshua Tree. During the investigation, deputies determined Larry Gillette was involved in an argument with the victim. During the argument, Gillette reportedly pushed the victim down the stairs, causing injury. Investigators also discovered indications of on-going abuse and torture.
On Friday, August 26, 2022, Gillette was located at a residence in Yucca Valley and was arrested with the assistance of Specialized Enforcement Division personnel. Gillette was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held on $250,000 bail.
