On August 19, 2022, at 11PM, Novato Police Officers responded to the report of a suspicious person throwing a hatchet at a tree and tossing boxes in the parking lot of a gas station on the 300 block of Ignacio Blvd.

Using De-Escalation techniques, officers contacted 34-year-old, Joseph Louis Deadman, in the parking lot of the business. Deadman exhibited signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was evaluated by officers at the scene.

Upon his arrest, Deadman was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Deadman was arrested and booked at the Marin County Jail.
