On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 4:00pm, Rohnert Park Public Safety, Cotati Police Department, and Sonoma State University Police Department will conduct a joint evacuation drill. There is no need for you to evacuate during this drill.

Rohnert Park Public Safety officers will be driving throughout the City of Rohnert Park using Hi-Lo sirens equipped in their patrol vehicles. These are the same sirens used by all Sonoma County Law Enforcement. During this drill, residents may hear the sirens followed by an announcement reminding residents this is a drill. September is National Preparedness Month. The intent of this month is to raise awareness about preparing for a disaster or an emergency. The 2022 theme is “A Lasting Legacy: The life you've built is worth protecting.” This is a reminder to make a plan and build an emergency kit.

The City of Rohnert Park and the County of Sonoma use several different resources to reach you during emergencies. Here are a few of the most common methods and ways to ensure you are ready to receive emergency alerts.

Nixle - Text RPDPS to 888-777 to subscribe to Rohnert Park alerts or Download the Everbridge App and subscribe to 94928.

SoCo Alert - Register at https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/BF7053564662. Any message regarding the safety, property or welfare of Sonoma County residents will be sent using the SoCoAlert system.

Wireless Emergency Alerts - These alerts are sent automatically to cellphones in affected areas. Always make sure your cellphones are turned on and adequately charged to receive these alerts.

NOAA Weather Radio - If you have a weather radio make sure it is charged and set to the local frequency to receive emergency alerts. Sonoma County residents should tune their NOAA radio to frequency 162.475 and SAME code: 006097.
