INCIDENT: Death Investigation
LOCATION: B Street / 3rd Street, Victorville
DECEDENT: Dominic Alfonso Yanez, 62-Year-Old Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Thursday, August 25, 2022, deputies with the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to an alley near B and 3rd Streets in Victorville, regarding a man who had been shot. The man, later identified as Dominic Yanez, succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased.
Investigators with Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. It was discovered Yanez was armed with a knife and had been involved in an altercation with another person. During the altercation, Yanez was shot. Investigators identified and interviewed all involved parties. At this time, no arrests have been made. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
