SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 28, 2022 at approximately 10:46 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to the 400 block of E Street for a domestic disturbance. Deputies located a female victim suffering from severe traumatic injury.
During the investigation, deputies learned the victim was assaulted by her boyfriend, Ernesto Verdugo. Verdugo fled from the scene prior to law enforcement arriving, but was later located and taken into custody without incident. Verdugo was booked at the High Desert Detention Center with bail set at $50,000.00, pending a court hearing.
