***Attempted Homicide Investigation UPDATE***

Union City, CA – On Monday, March 29^th, 2022, Union City Police Department officers were dispatched to assist Alameda County Fire at the creek near Arroyo Park.  Alameda County Fire had responded to an encampment fire.  Officers on scene learned that the victim who lived at the encampment had been attacked.  The victim sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries.  During the investigation, UCPD detectives identified Nicholas Harville (29 year-old transient from Union City) as the suspect in this case and an arrest warrant was issued.
 
On 8/27/22, Harville was contacted and taken into custody in Fremont, CA for the outstanding arrest warrant.  The case was sent over to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for charging.
