On August 29, 2022, at approximately 11:05 P.M., the Cloquet Police Department responded to Carlton Avenue and 22nd Street in Cloquet on a report of a personal injury accident involving a car and a motorcycle.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a crash involving a small red sport-utility vehicle and a motorcycle. Officers found that the adult male motorcycle driver had sustained significant injuries in the crash.
Officers provided medical aid, and the adult motorcyclist was transported to Community Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Officers later learned that the 26-year-old Cloquet man had died from his injuries.
The 19-year-old Duluth man driving the SUV and three passengers remained on the scene. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor, and the investigation is ongoing.
The MN State Patrol is assisting with the accident investigation.
