|
Camarillo, California. –Two people were arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol at a checkpoint in the city of Camarillo.
On August 26, 2022, a DUI checkpoint was held on Arneill Road near the intersection of Ponderosa Drive from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. During the checkpoint operation, 5 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license and 2 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. In total, 628 vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
