Extended Stay Pocatello Shooting 
On 8-30-22 at 11:26 PM officers with the Chubbuck Police responded to the Pocatello Extended Stay in Chubbuck at 291 W. Burnside for the report of an adult male who had been shot.
Lifesaving measures were taken by police personnel on scene as well as Chubbuck EMS and Bannock County Ambulance, however the male victim succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The investigation into the mans death continued throughout the early morning hours and a person of interest was identified. At approximately 8:30 AM this morning the person of interest was detained at the Extended Stay and is currently being questioned.
Our investigation into the events that occurred last night is still on-going and we expect to be able to release more information as it becomes available. Currently the name of the victim as well as the person of interest is not able to be released.
Our thoughts are with the victim and their friends as well as their family as they grieve the loss of their loved one.
We appreciate the cooperation and assistance throughout the night and into the early morning hours by members of the Pocatello Police, Bannock County Sheriff as well as the Chubbuck Fire Department and Bannock County Ambulance.
