Deputies Respond to Retail Theft Call and Link Two Suspects to Several Other Thefts; Both Suspects Arrested

INCIDENT: Felony Retail Theft
LOCATION: 19000 block of Bear Valley Road in the Town of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Britani Lorre PadieEsparza, a 26-year-old resident of Redlands
Brian Edward Pinon, a 43-year-old resident of Upland
VICTIM(S): Target
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 4:23 p.m., Deputy Dare with the Apple Valley Police Department was dispatched to the Target located in the 19000 block of Bear Valley Road for a retail theft report. According to an employee, a male and female entered the store. The female selected various merchandise, concealed it in a bag and exited the store. Both were seen leaving the location in a white Toyota Corolla.
On Monday, August 29, 2022, at 5:16 p.m., Deputy Dare responded to another report of a female stealing merchandise in the 20000 block of US Hwy 18 in the Town of Apple Valley. The female matched the suspect's description of the theft at Target on August 24, 2022.
Upon arrival, Dare contacted the subject, who was identified as Britani PadieEsparza. Through investigation, the male subject was identified as Brian Pinon. PadieEsparza was arrested at the scene. Pinon was later located in Victorville, where he was arrested by deputies from the Victorville Police Department. Deputy Dare linked PadieEsparza and Pinon to additional thefts that occurred between August 22, 2022, and August 28, 2022.
PadieEsparza was transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for felony retail theft and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. In addition to the above charge, PadieEsparza was booked on three misdemeanor warrants. Pinon was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for felony retail theft and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
